About Us
NEPALUNTEER is a volunteering Project whose main aim is to contribute to the development of education, equality and wellbeing of the people in Nepal.
This initiative came up from a mixture of different volunteering experiences put together to create the best possible outcome, a better, more efficient and worthwhile experience.
Melanie, Carlos and Rodrigo met Susan at different volunteering programs in Nepal, and according to the reasons stated below, decided to make this initiative real.

I volunteered in Nepal in the summer of 2016 with a well-known organization in Spain who had a partnership with an organization in Katmandhu. I had an inspiring and lovely experience, but felt disappointed about the way the organization and the different programs were managed. I made a considerable expense and none of that money was destined to the projects nor to the people in Nepal, but the organizations itself.
I met Susan as he was one of the instructors in the organization and we became good friends. I saw in him the potential, willingness and therefore the right path to build a different concept of volunteerism in Katmandhu.”

I heard about volunteering in Nepal through my friend Melanie. She told me about her experience and introduced me to Susan. I had the opportunity to make an authentic volunteerism in the summer of 2017, with Susan, his family and friends.
Susan coordinated the accommodation, the food, the volunteer program and amazing trips, in other words, it was the closest experience to NEPALUNTEER, before its creation.
This volunteerism has been one of the best experiences in my life. I met lovely people, amazing places and most important, I truly felt I contributed to the people in Nepal. I absolutely recommend an experience like this one!

During my entire childhood, all I wanted to do was to travel as much as possible, meet people and bring smiles to the ones around me. Therefore after graduating college and getting my first job, I decided to save as much money as possible and travel around the world. It took me two years to save enough money to do it and I ended up volunteering in Nepal for three months.
I was lucky a good friend shared Susan's, and the school he volunteered at, contact information. He advised me about NGO's, hidden costs and explained how money never reached schools and centers.
Susan and I talked about how unfair this was. With this common heartache, I decided to involve myself in the matter so that this centers could get the help they deserve.
"Volunteering is much more than showing appreciation for your present, it is creating hope and blissfulness in people that seem to have lost theirs".
